Lantra’s head office had done its job for a long time. But the way people worked had moved on. Parts of the space dated back to the 1980s, and while the office was still in use, it no longer reflected the organisation Lantra had become.

Where we started

Lantra needed more than a refurbishment. They needed a workplace that could support the next chapter of the organisation.

The existing layout created separation between teams. Doors, barriers and closed-off areas made it harder for people to see each other, share information and collaborate naturally throughout the day.

The challenge was not just to update the space. It was to change how people experienced it.

Where we focused

We focused on creating a workplace that supports day-to-day work, encourages more natural connection and reflects Lantra today. That meant looking beyond desks and meeting rooms, and thinking carefully about the moments that bring people together: quick conversations, shared problem-solving, social connection and the small, useful exchanges that help teams feel closer. Because a great office does not just give people somewhere to work. It gives them a reason to be there.

What changed

We opened up the layout, removing barriers and doors that separated teams so people could see each other, share information and collaborate more easily.

We designed for collaboration, not just meetings, shaping the space around real working patterns with a mix of settings for quick discussions, focused work and shared problem-solving.

We created breakout spaces with purpose, giving people places to step away from desks, connect socially and build stronger working relationships.

The impact

The layout now works harder for connection. Barriers and doors were stripped back so teams can see each other, share information and collaborate more easily. Collaboration happens beyond the meeting room, with settings shaped around quick conversations, focused work and shared problem-solving. Breakout spaces now have a proper role too: giving people room to pause, talk, reset and build stronger working relationships. The result is a workplace that feels clearer, warmer and far more connected. Less closed-off. More joined-up.
