Looking at your workplace? Let’s talk

This month, we’re celebrating 25 years of Blueprint Interiors.

Since 2001, there have been big ideas, brilliant people, brave clients and hundreds of unbeatable moments when a new space finally comes to life.

A lot has changed along the way, from the way people work to the role of the office itself. But one thing has stayed the same. We still love the office.

And we still believe that when a space is designed properly, around real people and real business needs, it can change everything: how people feel, how they work, how they connect and how proud they are to walk through the door.

So let’s take a look back at where it all started, and how it’s going…

From one-man band to brilliant team

Blueprint began in 2001, founded by one man, Rob Day, from a love of great spaces and a belief that offices could work harder and better for the people using them.

Today, Blueprint is a team of space designers, project managers, workplace wellbeing specialists, furniture experts and support staff, working together to create spaces people genuinely want to be in.

As the working world has changed, so have we. Our expertise has grown beyond design and fit out into workplace consultancy, furniture, technology, WELL Standard, sustainability and the details that help a workplace perform better every day.

We’ve also grown our team by developing people from within, supporting early careers, apprenticeships and long-standing team members who have built their careers here.

A few of our favourite moments

Twenty-five years in, we’ve got a lot of stories to tell – definitely too many for one blog. So here are a couple of the highlights.

Moving to WorkLife Central

In 2017, we moved to WorkLife Central in Ashby. WorkLife is so much more than an office: it’s where we welcome clients in and show first-hand what happens when a space supports wellbeing, collaboration and culture.

Like any good office, it’s evolved with the times, and we were proud to see it achieve WELL Certification earlier this year. If you’ve not already, make sure to pop by and see it for yourself.

A new chapter of leadership

In July 2024, Rachel Biddles and Chloe Sproston completed their management buyout, with founder Rob Day stepping back from the day-to-day and becoming Chair. After more than 20 years helping shape Blueprint, it was a real full-circle moment.

Later that year, John Tansur joined as Commercial Director, bringing experience and momentum as the business continues to grow. Now, Rachel, Chloe and John are leading Blueprint into its next chapter, building on everything that has made the business what it is and shaping what comes next.

Projects with purpose

It wouldn’t be right to celebrate our birthday without thanking the clients we’ve worked with along the way.

The best way to understand Blueprint is through the work itself. Over the years, we’ve delivered thousands of projects, helping organisations across the UK and beyond rethink how their spaces work.

We’ve helped teams adapt to change, come back together, support hybrid working, make better first impressions and create spaces that feel exciting.

Every project has taught us something. Whether it’s one room or multiple offices, every space matters because it has an impact on the people who use it every day.

So to every client who has trusted us, challenged us and inspired us over the last 25 years: thank you.

Continuing to grow

Blueprint is still growing.

Under Rachel, Chloe and John’s leadership, the business has continued to invest in people, technology, workplace consultancy, WELL expertise, sustainability and better support at every stage of a project.

Our client roster includes amazing local businesses alongside household names, and for that we are extremely proud and grateful.

We've grown our services from furniture supply to full workplace consultancy and major fit out refurbishment projects, working across education, showrooms, healthcare and more.

But the real point is what that growth allows us to do: strengthen the support we can offer to our incredible clients, bring in new skills, develop our people and keep improving.

Thank you for shaping the story so far

This milestone gives us a chance to recognise the people, projects and partnerships that have shaped Blueprint so far.

More than anything, it’s a thank you. Thank you to the clients who have trusted us, the partners and suppliers who have worked alongside us, and every person who has been part of Blueprint over the years.

We’re proud of where we started, proud of how far we have come, and more excited than ever about what comes next.
