A brand new Nottingham office for Roythornes Solicitors
A workplace ready for future expansion
Roythornes, a leading solicitors’ firm, has been a key player in Nottingham for many years. To support their ambitious growth plans and enhance the employee experience, the firm recently moved into a new 3,291 sq ft office space at the EastWest Complex in Nottingham City Centre.
The team approached us to design a space that made the most of the available square footage and helped build their company culture through a period of expansion.
Roythornes, well known as trusted advisors for business and individual clients, wanted to create a better work environment for their expert team, attract new talent, and support their expansion goals.
Choosing the New Office Space
EastWest was chosen for several reasons: a central location, proximity to the old office, great facilities for staff, and a welcoming environment for clients.
The complex offers impressive amenities, including a standout reception area and plenty of parking, ensuring a positive experience for everyone.
The project involved adapting existing mechanical systems and infrastructure. We liaised with the landlord on these changes on behalf of Roythornes, ensuring smooth communication and compliance with building regulations.
The Workplace Design Process
We took the time to understand Roythornes’ needs and vision, assess the new space, and understand the activities that the team needed to do in the office.
This informed our recommendations on layout, furniture and the types of spaces we did (and didn’t) include in the design. Visually, we ensured the design aligned with the firm’s existing offices and wider brand.
Several design drafts were reviewed with key decision-makers to ensure the final design ticked all the boxes. Roythornes staff were kept updated at each phase of the project to build excitement for the office move.
The new office features a functional kitchen, collaborative spaces, and modern amenities, all of which have made a big difference to the work environment.
Building Company Culture
Staff are enthusiastic about the new space, highlighting the improved facilities and the vibrant, collaborative atmosphere.
The team has seen immediate benefits including more people coming into the office more often, better collaboration, more comfortable break spaces, and being proud to invite clients to visit.
